Description
One of Victor’s earlier works, this painting is portrayed in a folk, somewhat Chagall-like (which appears as inspiration in his paintings often) style, ripe with colors and more expressionistic forms. The painting is infused by an almost naive childlike simplicity and carefreeness. A wistful yearning for a leisurely timeout, during what was undoubtedly a taxing stage in his life, adjusting to a new country and struggling to support his family through odd jobs and selling his art on the streets of soho, which were then filled with similar artist’s stands.
