Description

This work mixes the impressionistic rendering of an intense fiery sky, with abstract, anonymous figures in gas masks obscuring their heads and faces. It emphasizes emotional experience over physical reality. Brush strokes are thick and visible, adding to the artwork’s textured and vibrant quality.
While the figures’ repetitive and rhythmic arrangement should convey a sense of unity, and stability, there is a symbolic or allegorical undertone of turbulence that leaves the viewer on the edge.
